Heaton Mersey Cricket Club

Junior Section

With in excess of 120 junior members, Heaton Mersey CC has a thriving and successful junior section. We run teams at Under 9, Under 11, Under 13, Under 15 and Under 17 in the junior competitions organised by the Cheshire County Cricket League.

As a measure of our success, in 2005 our then outstanding Under 15's side were Cheshire Cup Winners and then were crowned North of England Champions before reaching the final of the ECB National U15 competition.

In 2004, Heaton Mersey CC was only the 111th cricket club in the country to be awarded ClubMark status by the ECB and Sport England. (renewed August 2007) This accreditation confirms Heaton Mersey takes the welfare of its junior members seriously and provides a safe, friendly environment for youngsters to play cricket.

For the 2010 season, Junior team managers and coaching nights will be as follows:

Junior coaching sessions for 2010 will commence on Monday 19th April, running through until the end of July. All sessions start at 6:30 pm and finish at 8pm. All our coaches are ECB qualified.

In 2010 we are continuing our One-To-One coaching sessions for junior cricketers. Details can be found here .

Matches at Under 9 and Under 11 normally take place on midweek evenings, while Under 13 and Under 15 league games take place on Sunday mornings (9:30am starts).
